Hampton Court Palace Flower Show
Border Sundials exhibited a selection of armillary spheres at the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show as part of the Tudor theme in the Festival of Roses marquee (7-12 July 2009).
The Tudor Rose Festival was themed as Henry VIII's Tudor Court with a dramatic red and white Tudor Rose symbol taking pride of place.
Armillary Spheres were very popular with the Tudors and were used as astronomical instruments. Capel said "I'm honoured to have been invited to be a part of this historic event."
Hampton Court Palace was the favourite residence of Henry VIII and to celebrate the 500th anniversary of his accession to the throne, the RHS gave the show a Tudor theme.

Tatton Park Show
This was the second year Border Sundials exhibited at Tatton Park. In 2008 the weather was mostly glorious and meeting lots of interesting people and sampling the northern hospitality enjoyable.
In 2009 however, the weather was very changeable with thunderstorms and blazing sunshine. However, nothing dents the northern spirit!
